best tire choice for a DD Carrera 2?
I just bought a 997.1 C2 and it needs tires...
It's my daily in decent weather (probably 150 days a year).
what's the best choice for a tire that has reasonable grip and ride quality and is QUIET...
the michelin's on it now are a) worn and b) LOUD...
help?

I also should have specified... 8-10K miles per year, car has 18s on it.
The SO4s and Pilots worry me on lesser-quality roads. I put 1000mi on it since Saturday, and i'll put another 500 Saturday, and then ~850 next weekend...
the 1000mi last weekend almost killed me...

experience with both brands on BMWs in the past and on this car right now. Bridgestones have always ridden poor to me and worn pretty quickly. Michelins I've always loved the performance, but the price per mile has been brutal and ride quality on Pilots has always been iffy in my experience
I want my wife to actually ENJOY traveling long distances with me in the car. quiet tires will be the key to that.
Right now it has Pilots on the front and some newer hankooks on the rear... so it needs a matching set either way.
if it goes to the track (and it will) it'll get dedicated rubber for that.

Now, if you really worry about road, comfort, and like to have more complaint tire your only choice is to go with 18s, and then maybe do a DWS or something like that, but even with S04 at 18s you should be fine. You can easily fine Porsche OEM wheels in 18 around the forum.

DWS = dry wet snow.
