Exhaust when under warranty

Just remember the warranty is with Porsche and not the dealer. Dealers will say anything to sell and keep you happy.
With that said my 2009 Carrera S developed a crack in a weld on an exhaust header. Porsche did not want to replaced the header due to the Fabspeed side muffler delete kit I was using. The dealership helped and got the zone manager to come look at the car and meet with me. First Porsche wanted a ecu read out to make sure engine was otherwise stock. After 2 weeks of round and round I met the zone mngr and he approved a 1 time replacement. He claims the header was getting to hit due to the ecu changing the timing and fuel air mix.

Fabspeed deals with a vast majority of Porsche dealerships in the US. While some dealerships can cause a fuss over cats, I have not personally had any issues with other exhaust components regarding the warranty. It is largely up to the individual owner of the dealership so it is always recommended to speak to them. A lot of this has to do with how you present and go about with your conversation to the dealership. If you are worried about it, I could recommend the Maxflo mufflers and Center muffler bypass X-pipe for a great sound that wont effect your CPO.

You say your Maxflo mufflers and center muffler bypass will not effect a warranty with Porsche. I am not making any claims that that system will damage a car. But, do you guys issue a written legal document to your customers, signed by a authorized officer of your company, stating that if Porsche denies a warranty claim because of your aftermarket exhaust, that your company will be responsible for the cost of the repair?

As I said, that is largely up to your independent dealer. Fabspeed has no control over what is or is not warrantied by either Porsche dealerships or Porsche themselves. I was simply offering my experiences from the past in dealing with this fairly often. It has always been up to the dealer, but as you say, the warranty is by Porsche and for that I do not have enough knowledge to speak on.
If the paranoia becomes too extreme, I would always recommend that the customer waits until the warranty expires as to help eliminate any unnecessary stress involved.
