Default Torque Specs for Brakes

I did perform a serch, but was unable to find the values....

I am changing the pads, rotors, etc on my 997.2 (2009 C2). Does anyone know the torque values for the various bolts on the brakes? the bolts that hold the caliper to the caliper hanger, the brake line that goes into the rear of the caliper and the screws which hold the rotor on to the hub.

Thanks in advance.

Caliper Bolt Torque 63 lbs
Brake Rotor Screws Torque 7.5 lbs

Don't know if the brake line has a specific torque value.

I also read on one of the brake threads that the bleeder valves are to be torqued to 6-9 ft-lb. Honestly? Does anyone actually put a torque wrench to those? It sort of falls into the same category as using a torque wrench to secure all the fasteners on the plastic under-belly panels. I guess for some "snug" just won't cut it.

Never have put a torque wrench to the bleeder screws and I bleed about 6 times a year due to track use.

Also,on a 997 Carrera you do not need to take calipers off to change pads. Obviously calipers come off to change rotors and the caliper bolt is 63ftlb. The little Philips head screws actually are only there to hold the rotor to the hub to help get the caliper back on.

63 ft-lb for caliper bolts is good to know as I'm about to do my front brake pads and rotors for my 2012 997 gts. Ill probably use my 1/2 inch torque wrench for that. Just got a heavy duty torque wrench with breaker bar for the center lock wheels which require 450 ft-lb. Can anyone confirm this?

Check out the pictures. A beast of a $400 wrench along with a cool socket that thankfully came with car.

Unfortunately, us poor people with the lowly base Carrera, have to remove the calipers to replace the pads.

FWIW I always torque the bleeder screws. They are too easy to strip out and once you have your torque wrench setup it only takes a few seconds to use it.

Look at this.

I have more if this is not the correct one you’re looking for.

I think that is only true for 997.2 models.

OP: Snap-On makes torque multipliers that will make the centerlock wheel changes easier.
