Evidently a fastener issue with the titanium connecting rods. Kudos to Porsche for doing the right doing to correct the issue.

Given that were talking about less than 500 units, and that this is world wide news, they'd be absolute f-in morons not to just replace the engines at this point.

I consider it an absolute no-brainer. If anyone at Porsche objected during any of the numerous boardroom meetings to discuss the options, they will hopefully fall from grace at Porsche.

Less than 500 units? Some dealers won't even have ONE recall to perform.

(I've seen different counts. Maybe 500 were U.S. units. Nonetheless, the tiny am't of strain on the dealer network, and the huge PR issue that was lingering, means it's still an easy decision. It makes sense from all angles).

Agreed. For a car this new and expensive, and a problem that causes potential safety concerns, replacing the whole engine should be a no brainer.

The question is if the replacement engine has fixed the issue?
