Default 997 911 S battery, diff sizes?

I did a search, but didn't see anyone mention a longer battery. The standard is about 12 inches long, but NAPA sold me a battery they say is the only one recommended and it is about 13.25 inches long. It fits and there is a hole in the battery pan that the clamp can bolt through, but I would have to slide a nut under the pan as there are no threads. The hole used for the 12 inch battery has threads below. It appears based on the battery pan there are different length batteries for the car, 2009, 911 S. When i looked up batteries, sure enough of the three offered for the car, two were 12 inches long and the third was 13.5".
Is anyone familiar with this and does it matter if I use the longer battery?

Thanks

H7 fits.

H8 is longer and requires the clamp to be moved to the next hole.

As long as that is the only difference and either battery meets specs, then i will probably get a nut and lock washer and use the next hole. Thanks.

If you live in a cold area the larger battery is prob better.

I recently got the interstate battery (forgot which but it was the best one) and car wasn't moved for a month (and I didn't disconnect the battery) and she started right up tonight. I wonder if I can chalk that up to being a new battery, or a very good battery.

Anyway it was amazing to take the car out tonight - haven't been able to do so almost since I got it. I did have a slow speed skid out when turning, when I gave it too much gas and the tires were quite cold, as it's in the teens here. I will know better next time.

Bigger is always better, go with the H8 it has more cranking power.

Long one is bit heavier but i think it is worth it. I also got long one, 4 years ago or so. Cranks a bit faster and overall is better too i think.
