Thans and good luck. Incase its possible, would appreciate some shots and comments of the structural aspects of the car, which point to rigidity and crash sturdiness. Thus, how thick are the door beams, do you see other stiffening bars in sills etc. Porsche shows a schematic of structural rigidity in their brochures, how does it compare with that and other cars that you may have worked on.
#1: All the cars I've had in my life of driver until now were cars I bought salvage and than I repaired. (I'm now 22)
Honda Element 2003 (16yo) Sold
Honda S2000 2001 (17yo) Sold
Lexus IS250 AWD 2007 (18yo) Sold
Acura TSX 2010 (20yo) Now Winter Beater
And now the Porsche 997, my first real car! (22yo)
The Porsche 997 is BY FAR the best car I ever work on it in my life! This car is a pure piece of art!
A lot of point of flexibility and a lot of point of stiffness!
We are in security in theses cars!
#2: Some parts are cheaper than the Lexus, but more costly than Honda and Acura!
#3: Normal people who rebuilt car for profit don't care about the integrity of the chassis!
It would have been easy for me to just cut the quarter panel in one big piece like this and just weld everything on the car but it's not the right way to do it when you want a good car. It's destroy the work of engineering that has been done on this vehicle! You put a lot of stress on your car!
If you want a good job do it like I have done, more time but it worth it!
#4: You see this little tube (that I show you with the green arrow)
This tube is only in the side of the roof, it don't go in the quarter panel or the dash corner!
#5: The piece of tube I show you with the red arrow in the next photo if probably the thing that gonna save your life if you crash your Porsche in a tree!
I have never seen anything as solid in all my life!
This tube is welded in the door sill
It goes from the red line to the second red line that you see in the next photo!
As you can see in the previous and the next photos that Porsche keep a weak spot for an impact!
(Green arrow)
#6: Today we changed the parts that we are pointing with arrows! With new one, unwelded and welded again like Porsche did with spot weld and installed the quarter panel sheet, I'm going to have more photos tommorow!
Thanks guys for your good words and for you respect!

Or maybe an old classic, but it's going to be a Porsche for sure!
Merci

Charley……2 years plus ago my car was rear ended very badly….no engine or chassis damage but a lot of damage nonetheless!
I could have pushed for a total and probably gotten one but I loved her…special PTS order Turquoise Blue and she was going to be my last Porsche….I wanted her!
I took her to real artists and they fixed her perfectly….I mean perfectly…never even one issue.
Funny…I love her more than if I never had the accident because I didn't throw her away like so many do…..Love this car!

Hi again Rennlisters!
Thanks for your interest in my project.
I got new stuff for you tonight.
We welded new interior quarter panel parts! Old one were recoverable, but I want my car in perfect condition like a new car.
We installed those too but I don't have photo of those installed.
Exterior quarter sheet installation/adjustment.
First door testing, won't fit!
We need to work on the quarter panel sheet adjustment.
After the quarter/door adjustment, it's finally fit like a glove.
The quarter is only spot welded at 2-3 place now cause we wanted to do the alignment before the final welding.
The Alignment has been done and the car is perfect! The frame is like a non-salvage Porsche. Very happy. (No photos sorry)
Tomorrow morning we will cut to fit and completely weld the quarter panel.
We will need to install the cowl dash corner.
Thanks it's everything for today! Update tommorow or Wednesday.

This may be the best RL thread ever. Keep the updates coming! Can't wait to see the finished product, but seeing it develop in stages is fascinating. Have been up close to ground up hot rod builds, but have never seen it on a P car.
