Default PCM Question

I have a 2005 C2 with bose, nav and CD changer. Unfortunately, I seem to have some hybrid of PCM 2.0 and 2.1. My head unit does not have a phone button. I am considering purchasing an updated OEM headunit with a phone button. Any idea if that will work and allow me to use the more up to date Dension 500s? I am still reeling at spending $2k for an aftermarket unit. Thanks!

Essentially, all the 2005 cars got the prototype PCM. It lacked the phone area buttons and function.

I would simply give your local dealer a call to find out if the new part number (997.1 cars) will be backwards compatible to your wiring. I suspect it will be, but there is always the possibility that a new wiring harness was also called out in that evolution.

I have two 2005s that both seem to have the phone buttons, unless you're talking about a different phone button than the "TEL" button in the row under the screen, the phone graphic button on the multi-function buttons and above the dial pad #s, and the SIM card slot and dial buttons on the left of the PCM screen. Photos is of mine - wife's looks the same.

Not questioning your knowledge, just trying to build mine. Thanks.
