Default First Oil Change

Did My first oil change on my 05 C2S. I have to say it was the easiest oil change I've done. I change the oil in my wife's car & my truck and they're a pain compared to the Porsche. Besides, it was a bonding experience.

Congrats! It really is super easy on the 997 (the 991 is only a little more difficult - still easy). Not sure where you are located but in CA they pay you to bring in the used oil. Bonding and cash, what a deal.

Yup. Really easy. I saved $350 by doing it myself, and it took me less time than just the return drive to the dealer.

Totally agree! The drain plug is easily accessible - you barely have to go under the car. Much easier than our much taller MDX. The angle or the filter is hassle on that, and my motorcycle.

If anybody is on the fence about doing this yourself, don't worry!

DO, however, be prepared for that oil to come outa there like a cow peeing on a flat rock. Cardboard and trash bags and rags are your friend.

$350 for an oil change? Hope that includes a reach-around! Holy!

My Indi charges me $120 oil included but this summer I will learn to do it myself.

Yeah $120 is a fair deal. It might be worth $40 to ya not to have to return the oil. And if you don't have the hex driver and oil wrench and ramps...
Oil is $90. Filter is $25.
yeah, $120 is good.

Plus I live in a condo with a 'parking spot' and two motorcycles around the car so not much wiggle room to do much on my own

No, saved $350. The service writer quoted me $450, but "that includes all taxes and inspection." He said it with a straight face.
