I have one of the 2CH dashcam units available here from Blackvue. I have hardwired it into the 911.
I have equipped my wife's station wagon with the same unit.
They can be enabled to operate in 'Park Mode' for a predetermined amount of time.
Paid for itself when someone reversed into the wife's wagon at the shopping centre - we were able to identify the vehicle and this had no insurance excess (usually AUD $1000).
They're also great for capturing the vast majority of d*ckheads we seem to have here in Brisbane, not to mention the self righteous, red-light running cyclists.
