Default Porsche 997 Lowering, Offset, Spacers and Fitting Questions

Hi guys,

Sorry if my english is bad, this is not my first language (I'm French Canadian)

I just bought a 997.1 Carrera Narrow Body with Carrera Classic 19 inches wheels on it and PASM Suspension...
F: 19 x 8 ET 57
R: 19 x 11 ET 67
Front and Rear on Michelin PS2, 235 on front and 295 on rear

My questions:

#1
I want to change my tire for Bridgestone RE050A
F: 235/35R19
R: 305/30R19

Put H&R 1.2inch lowering springs
Put 5mm spacers in front
Put 10mm spacers in rear

Is this going to rub?
What the maximum spacer size I can put?

My wheels on Michelin 295 without spacers

#2
I want to put a GT3Tek front lip on it!

I was wondering if I use the car as daily driver with a H&R lowered suspension it's would be fine with the front lip!
Do I'm gonna scrap everywhere?

A photo of the lip on a 997 I found on Internet

Thanks

Charles

You can use those RE050A tires (I like those tires) and spacers without any clearance issues. If you lower the car by 1/2" or more, it will be easy for you to scrape the front unless you are very careful. With a lower front lip, scraping will be even worse.

My car, with a factory bumper, is lowered about 3/4" on adjustable Bilstein Damptronics, and will scrape at dips and speed bumps unless I take them very slowly and at an angle (1 wheel at a time over speed bumps or curb cuts at gas stations etc.).

No, I'm not sure, but pretty sure. Here is a photo of my car, lowered 3/4", with 11.5" rear rims (vs your 11" rims). My wheels have 62mm offset vs your 67mm offset, so the outside of my wheels/tires are about 11mm out from the factory version. (5mm less offset plus 1/4" extra wheel width each side of wheel center). I'm sure others here have wide wheels and/or spacers plus aggressive lowering like you're planning, so can verify whether you can expect any rub issues. While lots of people put 305 tires on their 11" rims, I believe it is recommended to use 11.5" rims for those tires so they're not stretched quite as much. (Some factory wheels such as the TT are 11.5" wide and accordingly come with 305 tires.)

Do you think I can put 10mm spacers in front and 15mm spacers in rear?

If you rub it would be an easy fix. Just remove the spacers

I have H&R lowering springs with 305/30R19 at the rear on 11" wide rims (52mm ET) and they fit perfectly. I increased the fronts to 245/35R19 on 8.5" wide rims (45mm ET) to help balance out the understeer. No clearance issues at all at the rear, occasional very light rubbing at the front when at full lock and on an uneven surface.

I would go with the standard 7mm front and 15mm rear spacers and you will be good.

This car has 8.5" et47 front and 11" et48 back.
That is equivalent to your 8" et57 with 16mm spacer in front and your 11" et67 with 19mm spacer in back.
My car is lowered with H&R coil overs, 245 tires in front, 305 tires in rear. No rubbing. The outside of the tire is flush with the outside of the fender.
So you will be very safe with 15mm rear spacer and a 15mm front spacer.

Hi,

I'm running stock lobsters with 15mm front spacer, 18mm rear spacer.

H&R springs, and the gt3tek lip.

295 35 out back and 235 35 in the front.

Narrow body 997.1

Not even close to rubbing tire in any circumstances.

The lip does scrape on occasion, but not if you angle your approach/departure.

IMO, it's still a very conservative setup.

I'm planning on going lower and wider at some point.

Don't be afraid!! Go wide

Lobsters for narrow body cars are same as your wheels: 57 front, 67 rear.
