QUick question about going the other way. - The factory tires are 305's on the rear of my 997.2 Targa. I was looking into all weather tires, and Tire Rack said the only ones were 295's which would fit fine on my car. Any thoughts?

No lowered. Stock suspension. Thanks.

Running 305s, 18mm spacers, and lowered. No rubbing, even loaded heavily on track.

The only issue with some 305s on 11" wheels is that the additional rolling diameter will change final drive, i. e. longer gearing... I have felt a difference between multiple brands, but love the look.
Also, C4S runs 305s on an 11" wheel with just an offset change, not an 11.5", so don't stress it, just go with what you like.

Which 911 do you have? What tire brand?

997.1 C2.
And any choice you can think of... PS2s, Bridgestones, and Hankook RS3's. Have a set of 305 Super Sports also, but haven't mounted yet. Never rubs, even when sitting lower with negative camber settings for track.

I was using my stock wheels when I tried to run 305. I use pretty soft springs on my coilovers. I think that with stiffer springs and rolled fenders I could have probably made 305 work without rubbing. Just didn't work on my car.

From what I understand most "all season" tires are 295 or smaller. If your rim is 11" 295's are fine. If they are 11.5" I think they will work, they will just look a tad bit tighter/stretched. The difference is only .4 inches in width.
