Yup they seem to match better with white or silver paint. But on black I prefer the red.

Tough call. The clear hides your license plate (ideal for flying through tolls) and the red hides your bumper. Personally I like the big butt bumper & hips and it would be nice to not have a visible license plate though I think i still prefer the red.
