Tough to watch.

The message at the end is a good one. I've seen a lot of careful drivers get into accidents because someone else made a mistake and the careful driver didn't anticipate it. They thought their own careful driving would be enough to keep them out of trouble.

In all my years of driving, the most effective technique I've employed and the one which has saved my butt the most times, is driving with the expectation that the people around me are about to do something totally stupid. Drive in that mode and you'll never be taken by surprise.

Agreed, i've taken this somewhat paranoid approach to both driving and parking and it's saved me from more than a couple potential accidents.

The lesson is simple. No matter how good a driver that you think you are, there is always someone else on the road that you cannot predict.

How many times as a P-car driver have we all pushed the envelope even just a little?

That public service campaign should debut stateside. Very sobering indeed.

Great post and timely. In my neighborhood, we've been having issues with people in the morning commute going through stop signs in a rush to get to work or driving terribly fast. We have many young kids biking to school and just playing. I'm re-posting this to our community site.

Default Thought Provoking

I am from NZ where this ad is made , we have a lot of roads like this virtually no big freeway network etc so the driving accidents are like that are prevalent.

Our speed limit is 100km/h (62mph) hence the focus on the guy doing 110.

There will be another series coming out soon i'll post a link to them if you are interested.
