Good suggestions. We forgot our phone charger. We did keep a positive attitude though, despite the weather/forest fire problems. I would add:
Don't over plan. Give yourself time to take side trips as opportunities arise. Because it was Christmas, we had to get back on a timeline. Not ideal.

also don't over pack. Just bring the basic essentials. If you need anything you can purchase it on the road. You don't need a car full of clutter.
