Great story, great (brave) color choice. How much have you paid in sales tax on this adventure?

Sales tax has not cost me much because in South Carolina, the sales tax on vehicle purchases is capped at $300!

Reading the OP's travails made me laugh on myself. We had maybe 1 week of P-free life before I got hit with the sweats and had to replace it with another. I found one a week later and then it arrived all as described in another few days.

Went for a short ride around the area and again felt settled.

I love the Nordic Gold car and wish you the best with it. I am glad to hear that the 2S really does feel a bit more light and nimble even though the .2 4S was quicker. I am trying to keep myself from constantly eyeballing the grass on the other side

thats awesome!

in canada taxes on those 3 911s would have costed 15-25 grand. 13% tax (the 911 prices slightly higher here as well).

Great stories! I came SO close to buying that green (I recall it was a Paint to Sample option) C2S when it was at the dealer in Richmond. I think what kept me from pulling the trigger was that it didn't have the Sport seats, which I really wanted. I wasn't a fan of the all red tails, either, but that would have been an easy fix I loved the interior with the black full leather and silver deviated stitching.

Impossible car to forget! Wonder where it is now...

I'm really starting to like odd colors. Machalite green, Nordic gold, Riviera blue, Bone white, Peridot ...
I always buy used and in Ohio we get no trade in brakes on used deals. Sales tax is 6.75 on full purchase price.
Recently I've been thru a few cars and the taxes are eye watering!

Chaos, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think the sales tax in Franklin County went up to 7.5% a couple of days ago.

Just read this thread and enjoyed your chapters. We all share "never be satisfied" syndrome and that is a good thing. Dreaming is a good thing. Acting on those dreams is even better.

I have the other issue too......"I should have kept that car" even though I really enjoy my current ride. If we only had a place to keep those former rides.

Maybe one day a 991? They are looking better (to me).

Great story! I think most of us would only hope to do somewhat of a cross country trip in their 911's, I bet that would be great. Definitely something I'd like to do. The Targa 4S is a rare car and the color makes it even more so. Congrats!

Great story and all nice cars. If I had written that kind of story my follow up would have been " a tale of three wives"
