997.1 vs 997.2

As far as I know, the main stuff was LED lights, minor cosmetic details, PDK available. bi-xenon standard, PCM 3.0, no IMS, better water pump, and options such as sat radio and Bluetooth were available.

Differences are:
- Engine
- Electronics such as Nav, Bluetooth
- LED lights, new options available such as PDK
That's it.

I remember reading George Kacher's review of the 997.2 when it was introduced, and it talked a bunch about the revised front suspension being one of the biggest improvements made. Not sure if it is/was geometry, springs/dampers, or both.

Side mirrors? Really? To me they look identical, no?

Whatever the changes are, 997.2 is worth it unless you're overly concerned about the DFI. The upgraded PCM, window switches, trim, BT/Nav/iPod, etc. are all worth it, not to mention the 30hp bump w/DFI. Just skip PDK... (Former 997.1 x2 and 997.2 owner)

According to this book;
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//PNA91102109.html
997.1 vs 997.2 chassis is same; however, spring rates, damper valving, roll bar diameters, front control arm bushings, rear spring isolators, all revised.
Also larger brake rotors, larger calipers, larger master cylinder. Improved brake cooling ducting. Plus the stuff mentioned in the above posts.
The service book listed above is a fantastic book full of details about the 997.2
