New owner intro! 997 Carrera 4
Hello, just wanted to introduce myself to the forum as a first time Porsche owner!
A little background: 1 year ago I picked up my Mercedes E63 AMG which is a really fast, fun sedan. However I really missed driving a vehicle with a manual transmission so began my hunt for a Porsche 911.
I initially had my heart set on a 996TT or 996 GT3 but then after driving the 997 this weekend, I fell in love with the looks, more modern interior and comfort. Wound up buying it from a local Porsche dealer at what I felt was a pretty good deal based on all my research! Was definitely a bit of an impulse purchase, but 2 days into ownership no feelings of regret or buyers remorse yet...
Its a 1 owner (have stack of repair/mx bills since new) 2006 Carrera 4, 6 speed manual with minimal options: black leather heated sport seats, Bose sound, factory short shifter, 19" wheels, silver seat belts, silver seat back/console, bixenon headlamps.
After 2 days of ownership, can't help but have a huge smile every time I drive it! Even though it is not as fast as the AMG in the straight line, it definitely has a more fun go kart like feel to it! It has been relegated as my new daily driver, the AMG will be my weekend cruiser now (at least the Porsche gets 8-10 mpg more!)
I have already taken care of the first issue it had (noisy spoiler) by lubing up the cables as per a post on the forum which quieted it right up!
I do have a couple of other questions however:
1. My owners manual has a section on a "sport" button that is supposed to quicken up accelerator response... my car does not have this button... was that optional?
2. Is it difficult to install a aux input wire to the stock Bose sound system? (would like to be able to plug in my iPhone/ mp3 player for tunes)
3. How about Blue tooth? My vehicle doesn't have nav or BT... is it possible to purchase the BT module and have the capability through the stock head unit?
Heres a picture of it in the showroom before I drove it home over the weekend!
Thanks for reading, hope to learn more

Congrats! Love those wheels!
Somebody will surely correctly me if I'm wrong but I think the "Sport" button comes with the PASM option and the "Sport Plus" button comes with the Sport Chrono option.

You must be a bit off because I have pasm and sport chrono but no sport plus button. Only sport which is still night and day difference!

I believe there is a way to get the blue tooth and ports. I believe eric the bumperplug guy (no affiliation) can get you the information and maybe the parts. I think it is the Dension 500, or something like that. Congrats on your new go kart.

Congrats. Nice.
Looks like you have a ,1 without chrono. No sport button then. Not a big deal. Sport button with a .2 pdk tranny would be a more necessary option.

Congrats to you. Enjoy your P Car. Look into NAV-TV (nav-tv.com) SAT audio interface. I had it in my 2007 997 and it worked great directly through the stock Bose radio/PSM.

Congrats from another C4 owner, car looks mint!!! Love the wheels, post more pics when you can. I don't have Sport Chrono on mine either and car seems pretty fun as it is, not sure how much we're missing out on but don't care
If you don't want to invest in Dension/NAV-TV just yet you can add a bluetooth FM transmitter if you are desperate for that functionality, quality is not the best though.
