Default PCM Bluetooth

Just purchased a 2008 997 c2
26k miles and still has the dealer CPO warranty.
How can I link my iPhone to the PCM? When I hit the phone button the response is "unavailable".
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Aloha

You need to add a device to integrate bluetooth (and ipod/usb/aux if desired).

Reach out if you have more questions: eric@bumperplugs.com

Dension 500SBT will provide a direct-to-the-loop integration for bluetooth streaming and calls, as well as direct connect aux, usb and ipod connections.

All info will display on the PCM the way it should have originally come from the factory. Porsche opted to go without this option until the PCM 3.0 in '09.

Here are more details:

http://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php...product_id=125

Units are in stock and will ship within one business day, along with extensive details for self install or pro install. Once in, you'll have complete access to stream using your device.

How many hours should it take to install. Thinking of trying it myself

It's the 09's which have bluetooth phone integration if the option was ordered (most were).

MY2008, the 997.1, did not have any factory bluetooth options. They had a phone option, but that option, if installed, requires you to insert a SIM into the slot on the PCM. You will have to use an aftermarket solution, as was mentioned.

MY2009+ has a factory option to add bluetooth communication with the PCM for HFP (hands free profile). A separate option is for using a SIM in the PCM slot (not a bluetooth phone, but a phone option), and there is a bluetooth -use your phone's sim third option, I think. Most folks in the US use the Bluetooth HFP option.

Will the Dension/Mobridge units add Bluetooth audio/music streaming, and do they use the cars existing mic etc for phone calls?

Edit: clicked through to the Dension info and found the answers. Apologies for laziness

Options are:

- Dension
- mOBridge

Not much to choose between them, just need to know which can provide support best to you, where you are.
