Default Radio Station call letters wrong....

Is there any way to sort out and assign call letters for preset FM stations?

A couple of stations on my PCM have been wrong since day one, and I've even asked the station engineers about it. One gives me a set of call letters from west coast (starting with K), the other gives completely wrong call letters altogether.

Music is fine, stations are set correctly, but call letters are f'd up.

turn the rdbs off but you have to do it everytime you restart the car. We had an issue here in Houston with a radio station transmitting their signal on two stations. The rdbs would keep fitting between the two stations. So the song would repeat about 3 seconds. Turning the rdbs stopped this. I would bet it might fix this too.

Quit looking at the radio and watch the road.
If the radio works, everything else is just gravy. If the call letters are off . .. who cares.

My radio has a station that does the same thing. It displays a call letter for a station in Texas. Both stations are part of the I-Heart empire. I assumed they may be using a common feed?

I had a similar situation when listening to a local station another local station would alternate back and forth every second. I spoke to the station engineer and he asked me if I was diving a German car, of course the answer was yes. He explained that he had to recalibrate the station signal which he apparently did, No further problem.

These issues happen if the radio stations are not broadcasting the proper RDBS data on thier FM signals. The US version and the European version of this data system (which has been around since at least the 1980s if I recall) may differ ever so slightly and if the station is putting out nonsense of course the car radio cannot make heads or tails of it. Its almost certainly an issue with the station broadcast content.

What's odd here is these stations show up correctly on our Audi ('12) and on a few other vehicles I've been in. Not sure I'd say that relates to the station broadcasting the RDBS signal incorrectly.
