Follow up POLL to ADMIN 997 IMS(b) problems
Of those '06 and later engines which have had the new "internal bearing" and/or clutch changed out (block cracked open), how many, if any, have experienced later problems? I have found nothing regarding the reliability of the fix on these newer motors, and this would be valuable information to those considering a purchase of an '06 and later 911, or 911S. Please be specific with any posts ( yr. of car, how long owned, miles at time of fix, miles now, if any problems at what mileage, etc). Thank you on behalf of all future 997 owners!

I'm betting you won't find many, if any, people who meet your criteria. There have been VERY few of these bearing failures reported on this site. Lots of 2nd and 3rd hand accounts, but no 1st hand accounts that I can recall. And I don't think this is a procedure anyone would take on prophylatically.

Surveys need to have their own special post area all to themselves. Maybe moderators could add it to the list so those interested in all manner of surveys would know where to post them and could study the results of there survey all the other surveys.

I saw this on justrolledintotheshop recently, thought I'd share it with the 997 forum. I really don't care for people who post negatives unnecessarily, but thought this was worth sharing. Supposedly it's a 2007. http://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledin...idnt/?sort=old
