H&R Springs: what is the real drop for a 997.2?
#16
Also, you might have noticed that almost all H&R users claiming a stiff ride are 997.1 owners, while the ones posting about an "almost normal" ride are 997.2 owners. This might be an indication that the suspension is somehow different between these 2 models.
However, the stiffness of the ride is not clear at all since I have read many opinions for and against it.
I value all the replies so far and wish that more people riding on H&Rs would chime in to make this thread more valuable info wise.

Hi guys.
My 2c:
2006 c2s with pasm.
Just installed h&r sport springs a couple months ago.
Absolutely love it. With sport mode on it stiffens up nicely and responds to inputs even quicker.
With sport mode off, it's only a bit stiffer than stock. Responses still quicker, but no negatives in ride quality. In fact, I like the ride more, with these springs installed.
In either mode, the car is definitely more planted. I can carry a few more mph comfortably on the on/off ramps on the drive home, with, or without sport mode on. Still some body roll, which I don't mind, but nowhere near as much as stock.
The drop, IMHO, is perfect in the front, and not quite low enough in back.
Don't hesitate! You will love it.

Perhaps its PASM that makes the difference?

I finally lowered the car with H&R springs. It is a 2012 997.2 C4S.
The OEM height of the fenders were 26.75" front and 27.5" rear. The final drop was 1" front and 1.2" in the rear. I am very satisfied with the aesthetic results. The ride is just a little bit harsher but no more. The car seems more stable than before.
I hope this info help others who are in the fence regarding the H&R springs

Looks good. Am debating the same springs. My only worry is that I drive in the winter and may have to be a little more careful with ride height issues (ie snowplowing!!)
I love the look. Have h&r on my 993 and it looks great and would like the same look for my 997 (seems lowering the 993 is the first thing most owners do!)
Ride quality issues seem all over the place. Seems some consensus that it is at least a bit more stiff then stock PASM systems and you can either deal with it or not
Again, looks great!

Perhaps the difference is your car haivng PASM whereas both of my cars didn't. When spring rolls around I'll post comparative pics of my car lowered with Eibachs.

Looks awesome. I like the look of these cars when the wheels are neatly tucked into the wells, but my little frog is forever scraping her chin as she clamors down the mountain.
I worry that I would actually peel the whole front bumper cover off in one of the hairpins.
My GF says, "well then you'll just have to slow down." And I say, "If I slow down any more I might as well sell this thing and buy a Prius."
I'd love to lower it, but would hate to forever be scrubbing somewhere.
Anyone in a twisty, mountainy area like Nor Cal have the drop? Opinions on scraping the chin, scrubbing the wells, etc?
Also would love to see more pix from different angles!
