My 09 C4S 3.8 uses oil like a thirsty dog. Just bought Mobil 1 0-40 5 quarts for $32 at Advanced Auto. About a quart a 1000 miles. Crazy.

More common in .2 than .1. My '07 C4S maybe goes through max 1/4-1/2 a quart in-between oil changes.

I've had my 2011 c4s cab 3 months, 2000 miles and no adds yet. It shows one little square less than full now, just like when I bought it. 20,000 miles total.

Makes you wonder if the break in procedure has a lot of influence on oil consumption.

Oil lost/consumption is negligible so far. Oil changed every 3K miles or 6 months... '08 C2S with 63.5K miles.

My 09 C4S goes through 2 quarts between each 10K mile maintenance. So it burns about a quart every 3,000 miles, give or take.

I bought my 997.2 MY 2009 with 8000 miles, initially the consumption was 1 Qt per 2500 miles or so, now at 14000 miles, after oil change I have driven 1000 miles without the guage going down not even 1 box. Driving style has been same as before, mix of city and highway.
