Enable Auto Door Lock at >5kph, 2010 997.2 Cab
All:
I am trying to get instructions on how to enable the auto door lock on my 2010 997.2S Cab.
I have the durametric pro tool and I switched the setting to "on" where is says "above 5 KPH" in the Alarm section for each of the keys (there are three of them). However, every time I turn the durametric off and restart, the setting reverts to "off" for the key I am using. Also, is turns "off" for any other key subsequently used.
How do I make the settings stick? Is it something about programming the key that I must do?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Greg

I suspect you do not have Sport Chrono. That is why the menu items are missing from the touch screen menus.
You can not enable this feature on a car that does not have Sport Chrono. I took my 2009 C2S (no SC) to the dealer and asked them to enable this feature. I was with the tech when he enabled the lock feature. It works once, then the computer magically reverts to the 0 setting. We watched it happen. The tech was dumbfounded and said "it shouldn't do that". He called Porsche. Porsche told him it has to be enabled through the PCM on-screen menus. Dopes.... the menu items only exist if you have Sport Chrono.
So, I sent an email to Durametric as I was considering buying their product and asked them of the issue. The response said something like "we are unaware of any sport chrono limitations" - or something like that.
If you figure it out, PM me please! This feature would be the tipping point for me to buy the Durametric tool.
This is maddening. Locking is actually a safety feature and should not be a luxury option item.

I have a 997.1 so not sure if it's relevant but my dealer did this for me soon after I bought the car. First they came out and said that they tried but it was not possible. I told them that the owners manual specifically said that it was. Then, after further effort, they suceeded mentioning something aboout the "second key." BTW I do not have sport chrono.

I had the same experience as Bruce in Philly. My dealer (Napleton in Chicago) tried but couldn't program my '09 without sport chrono, even though the owners manual says it can be done.

Mine did not come with the "Sport" mode, but after reading several posts, I had it added by the local dealer. In addition to the benefits of the "Sport" mode, I noticed it did add some functions on the PCM and I guess this is one

what is the purpose of autolock anyways?
Is everyone afraid that someone is running alongside the car and trying to break in while you're driving on the highway?

My buddy was almost car jacked in his BMW 8 series a few years ago. Faith in your fellow man can get you killed.
