I would buy it again. It's the best way I found to get my iPod into my Porsche. The limitations are due tithe PCM. I have a dedicated ipod in the trunk but would probablY wire it with the cable in he Cain if I had to do it over again. The interface is a little slw and clunky but I wanted to manta in the stock PCM unit and this was the best way to do that.
Good unit. Got it installed at the dealer when I bought the car. Wired to my glove compartment and can leave my iPod there. Probably wouldn't do it again - just don't listen to music in the car, not even on long trips. That 3.8 music is all I need.

The only thing I did not install was the microphone because A) I have a cabriolet B) it looked like it was going to be a PITA to route it through the firewall and C) I didn't want a mic stuck on top of my steering column. Plus I have a blue-douche headset for calls.
Note, if you don't have a CD Changer you will have to have the dealer activate the "phantom" changer in the PCM unit. The Dension unit pretends it's the CDC.

The "hardest" part is tapping the power. I used solderless wire taps. Just make sure you get a good connection if you go that route. Also, buy some Velcro to secure the unit. I

I would not purchase again, mostly because the car is too loud at speed on the highway which is most often when I talk. Even on surface roads ppl say they have trouble hearing me. I have mic mounted to the left of the rearview mirror so I don't think mic is the issue. It works as advertised though and integration with PCM is good. Mine generates a "CD changer not found" error on the PCM at startup. Otherwise it is error free. Music cuts out when call comes in - good to have integrated unit.
Been on and off again thinking about getting one but I keep hearing of people getting errors and glitches so I haven't yet.
Right now I use a Jabra Freeway, which is a visor mount unit, better than most because it has 3 speakers built-in, plus an FM transmitter. Locally it works great and I haven't had to change frequencies to find a reasonably clear one. The only drawback is if there's no activity for a few minutes the FM transmitter shuts off to save battery power. As long as I'm streaming music from my iPhone, the FM stays on, so if I'm using GPS or a call comes in, it goes through the stereo speakers. If the FM is off, the Jabra's speakers are still good enough for GPS and calls. People say they can't tell I'm on a speaker. Best news it cost $100 all in.
So like I said I'm still on the fence about the Dension. I'm also thinking about just getting a Bluetooth/Aux-input enabled aftermarket head unit. I would keep the PCM unit so it could be re-installed if/when I sell the car way off in the future.
