Costco
My '08 C2S has 61K+ miles and it's still under CPO until next summer so I'm considering my upcoming options. I'm the 2nd owner and I have all the service records from the prior owner. To date the original warranty plus CPO have covered 2 TPMS sensors and this week I'm having the p-dealer replace the sunroof motor under warranty... I've been DIYing most all wear and tear maintenance items. It's been material cost ($2K in total including my recent clutch) so my warranties have not covered anything but the TPMS sensors and a sunroof motor... I just don't see paying $5K or more for another extended warranty especially as I now have a great Indy to service my car as a safety net.

Another option is Mercury. U can price at www.premier.org website.
Mercury does not cover wear n tear and is overall a step down in coverage but is cheaper n has lower deductibles.

Prior to Costco, platinum policies from Mercury, Fidelity, and EasyCare were among the best. Costco has pulled away from the pack in terms of coverage.
I couldn't find one online complaint with respect to a Costco claim denial. This is astonishing since Costco has over 8 million policies and pays out over $200 million in claims per year.
In comparison with Costco, Mercury excludes (9/2013) the following that Costco appears to cover:
- Hoses (Costco limits exclusion to heater & radiator hoses)
- Cables
- Chassis
- Convertible top mechanisms
- Speakers
- PCM/base units (limited to one replacement)
- Air pump
- PCV System
- Fuel Vapor Recovery System
- Gasoline Fuel Injectors via electrical failure
- Suspension springs
- Torsion bars
- Fuses
- Wear items
- Accessory drive belts
- Struts
- TMPS (not sure about this; not listed as an exclusion but I've seen a recent Mercury ad brochure that excludes it)
