997 Buying Advice
Hi there,
I'm currently looking at purchasing a 997 and as such I have looked around for ones that would fit my budget/requirements.
It came down to 2 options:
1)
- Cobalt Blue Exterior
- Gray Interior
- 47xxx Miles
- Sports Chronopack
- Adaptive Sports seats
- Sports Suspension option
- Exterior and interior both in excellent condition
2)
- Silver Exterior
- Black Interior
- 51xxx Miles
- PSM
- Sounds Package Plus
- 4 Owners (Sounds a bit high, not sure if it includes dealers or all private owners)
- Exterior in good condition apart from a scrape mark no the rear bumper
- Interior seems to be in good condition but I am not sure whether the interior is discoloured as per pictures or it's simply image discolouration. I would have to clarify with the dealer tomorrow.
Both these examples are Carrera S with the 6 speed manual.
I understand that this basically comes down to preferences but I would like to ask the rennlist community for their thoughts on these two.
I am leaning more towards the first option but am also a tad worried about the resale value of the Cobalt Blue should I ever choose to sell it.
Thanks in advance for the replies

Cobalt every day! But then I'm partial to blues and not very conservative when it comes to car colors,
I had a silver 911 and even though I put a LTS of Lipstick Red on the leather I was bored with it quickly.
Good Luck!

If you lived in the US, I'd say blue as it sells well here in the sports car market (not as well overall), but UK market may be more conservative.
I personally don't care for the dashboard wart as long as you have the PASM suspension.
If you're buying from a dealer, maybe you can get the steering wheel fixed as part of the deal. It's on the wrong side.

sport seats are a must - looks like both have it.
if you can find one with the Porsche Sport Exhaust - PSE that would be great!
I have bose in mine and i do not think the stereo is that great, i am scared to think how a non bose equipped car must be in terms of audio
one option i wish i had was full leather - its the only drawback i feel my car has.. the plastic dash just does not cut it for me
