2005 997S IMS update -

I have put 14K happy miles on my 05 997S - just refied and got the Route66 warranty covering me to 67K miles/3year.

Driving the car on road trips and at least 1-2 a week. Keeping the RPMs high. 38K miles and no Engine failure. Changing oil ever 5-8K miles.

That's great to hear Mike. JD power rated the 997 series as the having the highest reliability and build quality of sports cars and as you can see it's mostly worry free joy to drive. (And in the Porsche world we don't stress about adding miles (unlike certain Italian auto communities). I'm still loving my 05 997S - 6 years of an amazing daily driver. Keep on driving.

Update here also: mine just hit 60K, 32K on the OEM bearing (11K of it mine), another 28K on the LN, oil changes every 3K. Since my previous post, my extended warranty has covered another $1500 of repairs (incl all 6 coil packs, and one upper rear strut mount), so it's 80% paid for itself so far, with another 20 months to go.
