@patpetillo Good catch, yes I added clear side markers (purchased from Wheel Enhancement in Culver City, CA)
@Eric - Plug Guy I made no suspension tweaks (yet), it's stock height. But the tire profile got a little shorter because I went from Turbo Wheels to BBS CH-R 19x8.5 to 19x9 front, 19x11 to 19x12 rear. The effect is that the tire profile is a tiny bit shorter and the tires get "pulled back" towards the car a bit. This also makes the wheel lip protrude a bit more. I can provide some close up photos if anyone is interested.

@Petrvspetrvs The 996 had 115,408 miles when I traded it in. It drove so astonishingly well that I was in no hurry to sell it. I drove a 991 C2 and I was disappointed that it felt like it had much less torque than my 10 year old 996. After researching, I realized that the 991 only has a slight improvement in torque 287 ftlb vs 273 ftlb than my 10 year old 996, and the torque curve of the 996 was a bit friendlier in the low rpms.
As far as driving differences between the 10 year old 996 and new C4S, it goes without saying that the new car is a beast when in comes to torque and horsepower. I do notice that the C4S seems much quicker pulling from a standstill, with less tire slip (could be the 4 wheel drive?) I also notice that the C4S pulls differently out of turns - it feels much more stable. With the C2, coming out of turns felt like I was being shot out of a cannon, the C4S feels like a smooth roller coaster, haha!
115k thrilling miles!

Congrats on the new purchase. It is a beautiful car and very well appointed anfd the mods are nice but not over done. I have a '10 C4S cab and love it. If you take it to the track, try to pop the corner exits harder than you used to in the 996, you may find that cannon feeling yet again.
I like those BBS wheels too. I thought the CH-R rear's required spacers, maybe I'm mixing up models/styles.

@myw The C4S was a 2010 and had 11,223 miles when I purchased. CPO until July 2016. It was a 3 year lease return. Hmm, that means the previous leasee put an average of 3,741 miles per year.
@toper The Carbon Fiber exhaust gate was done as a clear bra wrap. The whole package was done at once: front bumper, hood portion, headlights, side mirrors, side stone guards (matte black), exhaust gate (carbon fiber). I negotiated the whole package for $1250 and it was done by Rob's Tint in Los Angeles. He's well known as one of the best clear bra installers in the area. For what it's worth Shaq and a bunch of other athletes, actors and high profile folks go there. http://www.yelp.com/biz/robs-glass-t...-culver-city-3

Glad to hear the 996 served you so well. Awesome journey your on.
Great wheel change as IMHO turbo wheels look awful. Love the carbon on the rear, which looks great with the white car.
I know how tough it is getting rid of a trusty old car. Like a good friend. Hopefully the next owner enjoys it like you did. I'm struggling in selling my bmw 550. A super car I purchased on euro delivery.
The 997 is a great car so you be able to cope with the loss of the 996
