Purchased a smarttop for my 997.2 GTS- from Mods4cars. It works amazingly well. Any one of the features is well worth the minimal cost and 5 minutes of install time . One touch up/down of the top from inside car, key fob up/down allowing top free entry and exit from the car, beep when I lock the doors, programmable pass side rear view mirror reverse function where it lowers to a preset level. Plus there customer service was spectacular! I couldn't be happier with this .

I have SmartTop on both of my keys and aside from everything you mentioned, I love how it delays my bonnet switch so it doesn't pop open on accident. Just the chirp for lock/unlock had me sold.

I had a very bad experience with this unit on my 997.1. After about a week of use, where the part worked extremely well, it failed catastrophically. Top was down, would not come up, horn blasting, lights flashing. Was able to get the car to my mechanic nearby, he disconnected the battery to stop the wiring from burning up and got the thing out.

The customer service afterwards was uncaring. Not even one word of apology for the problems their defective device caused. I was out of pocket for installation, removal and two way shipping, plus loss of use for several days. I would never do business with them again.

Installed on my 2012 997 cab and I love it. Should have done it day 1. Unit is size of a pack of cigarettes.

This was one of the first mods I made to my antique 997S. Best mod for a cabriolet! It sure gets a funny response from people standing near my car when the top starts to move.

Assume they have a version for the 991--I recommended it to a friend with a 991 Cab this Sunday.

It is a good thing for older Cabrios. Many of the features it offers are standard on a 997.2 car.
Its not very useful on a 997.2 Coupe or Targa.

I have a 2012 997.2 and I think the main features are great for me. Auto up/down with one button push and ability to hear beep at lock/unlock as well as remote top up dn.

Same here. They got new firmware with some new options but i did not care to upgrade it yet. Only puzzling part. Is that i cannot figure out why sometimes it lowers down windows fine when i keep key pressed and sometimes does not, even from very short distance. If firmware upgrade fixes that let me know pls
