Had my system professionally installed and the installer did the first update.
1. Since they registered the 9500 ci for the Defender Database, when I go update it now will the update program recognize my unit it and allow me to update it?
2. How do you verify which update the unit currently has? Can it be done without the computer on the control head somehow?
3. Just bought the new Max for wifes car, will the update software recognize each unit separately when updating?

It must be very similar process to the 9500ix. You get weekly emails, based on that you decide whether to update the defender data base, or the detector software. The Escort Detector Tools shows the version of the current software (1.11.0). Typically, I update before any long trip, or if the updates are related to my state. The detector needs to be registered, so I assume it will recognize it automatically using the same software.
