Default Speed Yellow

A question:

Was the last year that speed yellow was offered as a standard (no cost) exterior paint option 2012? (The last year of the 997). I know the new yellow on the 991/Boxster is called racing yellow?

Thanks!

You are correct. Sadly, Speed Yellow ended with the 997's.

Thanks, and remember, for only $5K more you can color-to-sample your 991 in Speed Yellow.

If I could only "Porsche Sample" the 991 into a 997 we'd be in business!

I think the 991 Racing Yellow looks great too. I might be going color blind but it looks like it has a little less orange hue to it. I'd love to find a speed yellow GTS!

I love speed yellow. But actually do slightly prefer the new racing yellow, it's more of a pure yellow IMHO. I've owned two yellow sports cars in the past and would love to own a yellow 911 one day.

And now I understand why many people, when they sell a car, ask the buyer for dibs if they decide to sell. That (MDR's SY 2S) was/is the "little 997.1 that could". If the 991 wasn't such a disappointment (to me) I'd have kept it instead of grabbing one of the last MT 997's off the line.
