Default Mistery Part

Anybody know what this part is for? Its made of rubber and has P/N 996 607 133 00. Been rattling around the glove box of my '09 C4S Cab for months and I can't figure out what it is.

Thx.

I checked the PET for our car and it is not in there - I was in there looking for the part number for a horn. Note the first number is 996.. Probably not even for your car....

Peace

Many 997 part numbers have the 996 prefix.

How about this:

Cable hood for side marker. Pop the side markers off and one should have the hood and the other not.

I just removed my bumper to replace a failed horn and you have to pop these markers. These hoods just popped off.

Peace

You are right Bruce! Although neither of my clear side markers have them, the attached installation pic from Suncoast shows the part. Perhaps the design changed and these are not used with the clear markers? I can't figure how to put it on.

Bend the cable back against the light socket. You would think the cable leads straight out and away from the socket, but it folds back 180 degrees. What you will have then it a bump and the hood fits over like a hat.
