I damaged an Audi rim and twice ruined the sidewalls of my front passenger tire hitting local potholes. On both occassions it was the same day that I cut a check to pay my property tax which felt like rubbing salt in the wound.

Thankfully, I've never damaged my 997 rims or tires, but took a stone in my front A/C condenser two weeks ago on the highway. Had to pull the bumper to replace the condenser. I placed some screens from rennline in the front vents when the bumper was off. They look sharp and should prevent that issue from happening again. The tiny sidewall on sport tires is vulnerable to even small potholes.

I imagine each state is different. In Ct., the town has either 24 or 48 hours to repair a road hazard upon notification.

Its more of a love/hate. Very nice people but typical large overhead multi line, conglomerate problems.

I knew the wheel issue would not be solved quickly and it would need an alignment. I didn't want to drive it on new tires without an alignment. My indi doesn't do alignments and my friends tire store doesn't really do four wheel Porsche alignments. Neither is in the best part of town to have your Pcar parked for a week and the $tealer$hip was about 5 miles away.

Simple.

BHM- I had luck with Momentum in the Hoover area for a tire change and balance with tires shipped from tire rack. Did you try them? Their head porsche mechanic has 20+ years experience and is good. I'm with you on the local $tealership.

I've heard good things about Momentum, just haven't had a chance to use them.
