Ya, those taxes plus transport and the required inspection at a certified facility. Also the cost of probably going down to view the car before taking delivery. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't be too keen on buying a car like this and moving it to another country sight unseen.

Many of my friends have bought in the US and driven the cars home themselves and that's always fun. I almost did that myself but stumbled upon my car locally.

I'd really look at Skanky Frank's '09 for sale. It's worth all the importation BS to get that car for $50k. Good luck.

Went for two test drives. Both were good.

Need to find someone to inspect the car.

Looking at these three.
$58,000 is more than I wanted to spend.
I can afford it, but well ... "I'm married". (you know the situation!!)

I see there are only two Porsche 911 Carrera 4s in Ontario.

911searcher - I've sent you a PM.

I've recently brought my Carrera 4 in from the U.S. and paid considerably less than the Toronto "Stealers" are asking. Let's chat...

Thanks Cam
I certainly need the help.
I did find these.
My worry about buying from the US ... it'd be hard for me to get there.
Seems super scary to buy a car without touching it. Not that I have *any* car expertise.

$7,000 seems like alot.
Cam: how much did you pay ?

I paid $54k (CAD) for my '06 C2S with 53,000 km (6 speed, sport chrono, adaptive seats, Bose...)
Sweet ride.

My buddy said import costs (DUTY) were 6% for him. (Plus (HS)Tax of 13%)

HST on 50,000 x 13% = $6,500
Duty on 50,000 x 6% = $3,000

Just got off the phone with these guys.
They are near Pfaff Porsche.
Said they'd be willing to drive the car to Pfaff for an inspection.
I said EU Autowerks and they said probably OK.

Those blackbook prices are perhaps what the dealer will pay on trade-in but I've never seen 911's in Canada priced that low...
