Default Spoiler Recommendations

Considering a spoiler for my 06' Vert. First question, do you think a spoiler looks good on a convertible? If yes, which spoiler do you think looks best? I was looking at a 911 Turbo Vert and thought it looked great.

Looks are subjective so it is up to you but it will for sure upset the balance of the car at high speeds.

Upset the car at high speeds? Unusual comment, do you think I drive around at 140 mph all day? Maybe your a aeronautical engineer

Techart type III. I don't have a vert, but I was trying to find something as close looking to the Turbo wing as I could. Its a great looking wing. Add's just the right amount of aggressiveness without being to aggressive.

I don't think that a spoiler looks good on either a coupe or a cab.....not my cup of tea!

To me, the cool thing about the 911 is the old school look they have. Putting a spoiler on the rear just takes away from the overall shape of the car and adds an (IMO) piece that takes away from the beauty and elegance of the car. I love the vents on the engine lid and spoilers cover all or part of that.

Porsche to me is understated aggression...it doesn't need the spoiler....it's already cool as sh*t!

The one spoiler I did like was the tea tray......now that was something.

I do like different and I do like fun! I don't like obvious and that's always what a spoiler looks like to me. I'm old though so maybe that accounts for it!

Now bright colors.......that's another story!!

Good Luck with your decision.

Tom

I'm going to have to agree with Grandpa here and say: Skip the spoiler, the car looks great without one! I wish the Turbo's didn't have one either

It doesn't need the spoiler. But I do like that decal of you holding the Carrera lettering. Unique and subtle.

Then you must not like the look of the Turbo.

No spoiler especially on a Cabrio, I do not even like them on the Coupe. Old school I liked the Whale Tails, but the New Look I feel a Spoiler takes aways from the lines.

The only time I would put a Spoiler on is if your changing the front Spoiler as well also.

That said out of all the Spoilers I prefer the Duck-Tail look.

I am not speaking for him, but the Turbo is not what was asked, it is a totally different look than putting a Spoiler on an NA car.

I like the way a Turbo looks, but prefer NA clean.

You don't need to do 140 mph to change the dynamics of air flow on a car, even at legal highway speeds any additions or deletions will change the balance. Porsche 911's are already rear biased due to being rear-engined and putting more down force in the rear will lighten up the front even more.

And yes I am an aeronautical engineer.
