10k on my 2012 997.2 S. The car pent three weeks in shop to find and correct an electrical module that was intermittantly draining the battery (sometimes overnight). This is the kind of problem that scares me if it occurs after warranty. I can't imagine what that would have cost.
I now have a seat back issue. Since I use the rear seat for my grnadson, I have recently noticed that the seat cover is acturlly being cut by the plastic hinge surround when i pull the seat back forward to allow hiim access to the rear. I am not sure what my dealer may do with this as I am scheduled for an annual service later this month. I will point it out then.
One last thing, I am holding my breath on a PDK issue that couldn't be reproduced by the dealer during last year's annual service. After a warm up and a shut down...(drive to grocery store...etc) upon restart and take off, the transmission seems to slip between first and second. gear. I can actually see the revs increase by about 400 rpm til second gear kicks in. But, I admit that this seems to be the only time I can get the car to do this....Even I am unable to reproduce this. It only occurs once, and seems to only occur under specific circumstances.
Right now these concerns should all be covered under the original warranty. I am beginning to drive the car more and more with plans for a cross country trip within the next year. I will make sure to do something I have never done before with any other car and buy some additonal insurance coverage before the original warrantly expires.

Good luck.

I would be curious as to the cost and type of service on the .2 cars and a PDK in particular... I love my MT 997.1 S but in 10 years I might not have a choice if my back gives out or the wife wants to drive the Carrera.

'09 C2S, had a couple of leaks in the PDK, eventually replaced the entire unit under warranty at about 22k miles. No cost to me, which is a good thing as the service adviser said the job would have cost $17 to $20k!

09 C2 PDK with 19k miles- so far only had to have the pdk
re-calibrated under warranty due to some rough downshifts. I recently noticed some unusual engine ticking sounds occurring at random intervals and the sounds seem to originate from the oil filter area. The same sounds can be duplicated if revving the engine btw 800-1000rpm with light taps on the gas pedal: asked dealer, Porsche of Fremont about this and the foreman said other cars make the same sound, however, mine made them more often. They later noted on the final service invoice that "customer has after market air filters and bypass valve" referring to my BMC air filter and Sharkwerks bypass exhaust...not only did they not provide me with a logical explanation for the ticking noise, I think that note by them was a load of b s .. Overall, they have the record of my complaint regarding the noise, should a major problem occur stemming from it my warranty which expires in two years should cover that.

Other than the above the car has been solid with routine oil changes, and brake fluid flush per maintenance schedule.

09 C2 PDK, just passed 55K miles. Had the following replaced:

Muffler clamps per the campaign.

Fuel pump per the campaign. Old one was working fine.

Sunroof frame developed a crack in one corner and started leaking rain into the interior, about 47K miles. Replaced under warranty.

Other than normal maintenance, those have been the only issues. I would not hesitate to get another one in the future. It's been a very solid trouble free car.

31k on 09C4S with PDK. HPFP per service bulletin, rear shock right seal leaking. Not noticeable when driving. Driver door window handle microswitch. Window would not recede when full up position. PDK reprogrammed. Question of surge in auto mode. All done under CPO. Coolant cap upgrade too (4).

28,000+ miles, C2S PDK, the HPFP update at a routine service, but other than that, it's been trouble-free; my daily driver...

It's really not that bad, nothing like Ferrari costs anyway.

My 997.1 has roughly 47,000 miles. So far i've had to do one repair - front end electrical replaced at cost of about 900 USD at a Porsche dealership in 2011.

Can't cheap out on tires though - the good ones will run you about 1600+ for a set.

Overall very reliable.

Michelin pilot supersports,235 front/ 305rears can be purchased delivered for $1250 from TireRack a set so not that bad for tire options for our cars either.

2009 C2S with about 15K now. Under warranty repairs HPFP (2x) first time it failed second time under the campaign, clutch interlock switch (2x) again first time failed second time under campaign. Maintenance has been surprisingly inexpensive since I change my own oil. At my last service (4 year) they did not recommend changing the plugs, I supplied my own air and cabin filters and paid about $200. Replaced the battery 2 weeks ago.

Very impressed with the reliability and practicality of the car. I did replace my tires but that is not a reliability issue.
