Default Dull paint on spoiler/engine cover louvers

I noticed yesterday while waxing the car that the top surface of the louvers on the engine cover (spoiler) is dull looking, and won't shine up no matter what I try including Meguiar's Mirror Glaze which usually will shine anything temporarily. I even tried some mild polishing paste but only a little improvement. I know it's plastic...will I need to have it replaced, or can I have it repainted or maybe just re-clearcoated? Anyone have any experience with this?

Try a stronger polish to see if the shine comes out.

My '08 had lots of swirls in the paint when I first purchased it from a p-dealer in SoCal. Looked like someone at the dealership did a "detailer gone wild" with the orbital buffer or the PO just used auto washes with brushes... Took my boys and I 14 hrs initially to color correct and get rid of all the swirls. The non flat surface areas such as the spoiler presented some of the most significant challenges since we could not use the buffer to get in there properly. But we could clay bar then exercise lots of elbow grease with some polishing compound, Meguiar's mirror glaze was one, to get it looking good again... I just took a look at it and it still looks great after 1.5+ yrs. Once you commit the time to get it right it should look good. You could have the spoiler resprayed but I'd try hand polishing it first. GL and let us know the outcome.
