My oil consistently reads about 210-220 and I have the center radiator. It's been 98-100 degrees and 100% humid here this time of year so I don't worry about it.

Normal driving (which means not going beyond about 4000 RPM)
Oil : 190-200F
Water: 175 F

Spirited driving:
Oil : 210-215 F max
Water: 175F

I do have a low temp thermostat.

Wow you must rarely drive your car, otherwise that would be a PITA.

And when you say normal driving (which means not going beyond about 4000 RPM).....

.... I don't rag my car out by ANY means at all, but I take it up to 5-6k all the time without even thinking about it. If I'm trying to go fast then maybe I'll let her get to 7k and that's rare but how in the world can you stay under 4k??!

Why not? I like to live a little, I bought a Porsche 911 just for that reason. If I wanted to take it easy, I would have gotten a Toyota Prius

[QUOTE=Luxter;11538355]Why?

Its my understanding that for the best acceleration the shift point should be determined by finding the RPM that gets the car on the high point of the torque curve when going to the next higher gear. When I ran the numbers for my Carrera S they fell into the 6950 - 7000 RPM range.
