Default Any more PCM 2.1 Nav Map Updates to come?

The maps in my '08 997.1 are starting to get a bit dated. A quick search reveals nothing beyond a 2010 map update which I suspect would offer only minimal improvement.

Does anyone know if Porsche will be offering any further updates?

Thanks.

David

Doubtful because they switched to a hard drive system in the newer cars. I think most car manufacturers are going this way.

entdoc, I don't think so. Just got an email from Porsche about an update for 2009-2012 cars. That's when the new harddrive based nav was added. No mention about 997.1.

How do you update a 2009 navigation? Dealer? Price?

Could you post the content of the email if it came out of Porsche NA? When I had my 4 year major done in April, I asked about the update and they suggested that I wait until after May because that is when they were historically seeing them.

That seems odd... usually these things use semi-standardized map files that are purchased from companies like navteq. I can still get yearly updates for my '09 Honda nav...

Yes, same with my 06 Audi with DVD-based navi. I'm running 2012 maps.
