Replace visor lights
#2
The light part of the visor is a complete unit - don't think it has replaceable bulbs. If you can find LED replacements, the visor is so close to your face you might blind yourself. I see over on 6speed someone has replaced with LED's - still would be pretty bright.

I was informed that on 944's that the visor rod and clips are two different sizes dependent on the early/late style..big ones on the late cars....So the early clips won't work on late model visors because the visor rod is larger....Hope this clears some of the confusion...

LED Bulbs
Speaking of LED's. So I bought interior LED's from eBay (Blast LED). $35 for an entire car and this is what happened to 3 of the bulbs.
The locations were, passenger side foot well and the the two map lights. The two map lights got so hot that the head of the bulb burnt off and separated from the base.
I guess you get what you pay for. I should have know since the install was a pain. The bulbs don't seat properly in the bulb holder. If you insert it all the way, they don't light up, I had to pull it out a little by little and hoped that it would light up. Once that was complete, I had to hope that when I popped the housing back in, the bulb wouldn't move and also I cross my fingers, every time I drive, that the road vibrations won't unseat the bulb where it loses contact.
I just purchased replacement bulbs that are hopefully of higher quality from Amazon. If other bulbs burn out from eBay, I may just get a kit form ECS or Suncoast.

Mirror light on my car seem to be on all the time. Everytime a lady sits they just can't help but open that dang visor and look at themselves continuously. I always have to close it when it's just me in the car! It's a reason I am interested with leds. Those things are always on! My side never gets used.
