MY997...I am starting to maybe rethink this decisions and may get my Carrera S II wheels refinished (5 years old) and buy something else for the track???
Where does one get the Carrera SII wheels refinished? The previous owner scratched up the driver's side rear wheel paint. There is also a door dent in the driver's side that will need work. Would my paint shop take care of both?

Depends on how you want it done...our local dealer offers powder coating but we also have a wheel guy here in town that works magic on wheels...truly amazing what he can do as my wife recently curbed both her wheels on her Lexus ISC (to avoid a collision) so bad that I thought he would not be able to work his magic and for $150 I cannot tell which ones got curbed...seriously!
Hello everybody... Long time no post... but I have been following you.
I can't really remember whether I posted my 997 TT 3.6L in her post-op version, as it were... apologies if I did, but somehow, I really can't remember.
Long story short > she is a 2007 model, in Carrara white, manual box. I hesitated to update to a 3.8L but the difference is minimal... and the cost prohibitive here, in France.
So I went the other way and gave her a make over. Four Vog'Art forged wheels in matt black, and I drove to Stuttgart for a week, and left her at Techart's, while we were taking in the Mercedes Museum, Porsche Museum of course, and I managed to get tickets to visit the factory!! Memorable !
Meanwhile, Techart were doing a Stage 1 on her, plus complete exhaust line, with 100cpi cats, sports clutch (and the trimmings... higher mobile rear wing, new big rim steering wheel (a pure joy to hold, this), aluminium pedals, short travel gear stick... AND cherry on the cake: 553bhp on the test bed.
A completely new car. That was nearly a year ago, and I had to learn my car's handling again. She is now over-powered, which exactly how I like my cars...
Here are a few pics.
You will have to trust me on this one. I took that 458 upon braking (2 bends before this), and easily kept him behind in the long Mistral straight afterwards
The mythical Paul Ricard track, in southern France.

Just had mine powder coated. Came out really nice. Easy to clean with just soap and water and a long brush for the barrels. Check them out on "what did you do to your car today.
