Option 2: Buy a core from him and get him to wrap it. If he has your core in stock, it's around 3-5 days turnaround and around 1 week to ship to you.

I went with Option 2 as I didn't want to deal with downtime, and as it turned out, it was quite pricey to ship my core to him. So the plan was to just sell my old core locally once I had swapped it out to recoup some of the cost.
Thanks for the response... Yes I think 2 sounds better as well... Will need to look into this.

For anyone looking to save a few $s on a steering wheel, I have the OEM triangular airbag wheel out of my wife's 997.1 MT car in black leather (replaced it with a Macassar one) and would sell it for $235 shipped (F&F payment).

Core charges are usually around $300-$350 depending on the wheel company your using. You could send this one to them as your core and continue driving your car with the current wheel until the replacement arrives, then just sell your current wheel. This might be a nice option for anyone that has a better than standard wheel.

Let me know if interested.

These look good. Mine are silver, not as good.
Those thumb rest trim pieces on the wheel were leather wrapped along with the wheel. You can ask him to custom wrap other trim pieces as well depending on your preferences.

Lovely, lovely blue... I thought it was Miami blue ? Very similar, isn't it? Over here in France, bright colours are at long last becoming popular.
