You have Sport Chrono on a PDK car, which is a must, and a couple more years of warranty.
If you want it, buy it.

Price seems in line. A year ago I had a deal on an "S" PDK at $71K. Got cold feet because it was at the top of my budget. Ended up with a non-S PDK a month later for $60K. CPO'ed with 27K miles at the time. It's my daily driver and have no regrets not holding out for the "S" as the car is depreciating by the minute and I get the exact same joy from driving it as I would have the "S".

Looks like it.

I will say I regret not buying a 2009 S for $59,900 about 6 months ago. It had even more options and I missed it by one day! If you want it, do not wait! Offer $55k and take the deal or regret it later IMO.

I think the option of waiting and doing more research etc to try to find something better just depends on how much you value your free/chill time.

There have been times when I have spent too much time trying to save a few thousand dollars, in retrospect not worth the stress and frustration.

Another vote for .2 non-S. I basically equated .1S and .2 base when I was looking. I'd say that price isn't bad, though I haven't actively looked in 8 months.
BTW, no taxes on a private sale? I assume you know what you're talking about, around here you pay taxes when you register the car. Source is irrelevant.

Around here taxes are paid during registration no matter where you bought it.

I purchased a non-S earlier in January because once I factored in taxes, to buy an S was around $10k above what I had budgeted for the car. I couldn't go for an older S 997.1 because of hype/fear over IMS issues - in other words it was 997.2 or nothing at all for me. Others may differ in their thinking here.

I see that prices have been edging up slightly as we head toward summer. If you like the car then go for it. Be very sure that the CPO is valid though - the price factors in the fact that you have a warranty. And, get a PPI done by a local indy specialist if you know one, or at the very least a Porsche dealer. Don't forget the DME report - even though it was a 'weekend car' doesn't mean that it wasn't driven HARD on those weekends.

+1 on all of the comments above. The tax man will always get his cut. All the "S" owners are all about buying an S, but it's a lot of extra money. I have a non-S 997.2 and I never once regretted it.

The price seems fair.

S has PASM. IF you plant to track - I think its important. My criteria was C2S or C2+PASM which is a rare beast.

In Illinois/Chicago, private party sales are taxed differently than a dealer sale. From a dealer, ~9% of the sale price. Private party on anything over $30k is $1500 when you register the car.

If you think of most used car sales, less than $15k and 5-6yrs old, you're only going to pay $100 or so in salex tax through a private party.

I had no idea Illinois was like that! Here in Texas it's like 6.25% from private party or dealer.

Look for someone that wants early out on a lease and call for the payoff. Often times the payoff is lower than the current retail value. I just purchased a white 2009 CS2 with sport chrono, Recaro bucket seats (red interior), PDK, GPS, Bose premium sound, etc., 32k miles and CPO remaining for $49,800. Its has a clean Carfax. Good luck!

Good idea. How do you find someone though? Nice deal you got.
