AutoTrader.com No one had seen or expressed serious interest prior to last week. Three people looked at the car last weekend, one of them bought it.

As advertised, the car was a 10/10 unblemished perfect example. He drove 130 miles to look at it. He paid the DMV registration (which was coming due) on-line to "hold" the car, drove back again two days later with a check.

He is not new to a Porsche 911 as he has an '86 Carrera in his garage.

So, it would appear that the time of the year, like Spring, is of primary importance when selling a Porsche.

Thanks for the information.

Hard to know what conclusion to draw, but there was a flurry of interest last week. Spring (break) fever? Buyer is 68 years old.

The other interesting note is the the buyer had already placed an order for a new Cayman, then realized that for less money, he could have a no compromise 911. While he liked the Cayman, he wasn't passionate about it, so he decided to follow his passion, not compromise given the money he was spending, and get "the real deal." His words, not mine. Cayman lovers, please don't shoot the messenger.

I found the same thing when I sold my Targa a few years ago. Very little action for months, but when the right buyer came along (after I had decided that I would just keep it), it sold. Congrats on your patience.

Easy to be patient with no gun to my head and a fabulous car to own and drive while I waited.

I'm very happy for you Fred but sad that your ex will be unable to enjoy the North Bay's twisties with my C4S in your rear view mirror!

Thanks guys! Next is selling the boat, then a real estate investment, then - we'll see. I'm sure I'll be back in a 911 when the time is right again. In the meantime, I'll continue to hang around RL. Lots of interesting story lines to follow.

I have a rattle around the dash (in gauges area) that's driving me crazy. Is there a TSB for this? if not, any suggestion on how to fix?

This seems to be an unusual thread to be posting this question.
