Default tire size

I have a 2005 911 997 c2 and have currently on it c2s 19 inch rims on it with snows on them. Since its not the wider body it fills out the wheel well and fender.
They are
235/35/19
295/35/19

Now the question.

I am going to use these rims as track rims and have purchased the pilot sport cups for these
rims but 305/335/19 for the rears because they weren't avail for in the 295's....the shop says they will be fine and perform well??? Will this size change affect anything? Will it be fine? Also my cars not the wider body?

need an angle pic, the rears look pretty damn squared off as is with 295, 305 means 5mm more tire poke on each side of rim.. what width are those stockers?

They are square now. Flush. If it pokes out 5mm is that an issue? Looks wise I get it may look funny but this is just for the track?

No problem with the 305s, I run them on my NB coupe like yours. For better performance and tire wear on the track, your might want to add a little more negative camber. In this instance, the top of the wheel will tilt inwards slightly, appearing less 'flush'. Enjoy your track experience!

305 fits those rims.

Beware that Sport Cups need camber or you will wear them out quick....minimum -2.5 front and -1.8 rear...you will need to put on GT3...either Porsche or RSS lower control arms to properly get that amount of front camber.

If this is you 1st track events then cancel the Sport Cups as you will not even get to 50% of available grip with them and use something like Michelin Super Sports. They will last longer and provide you with way more audible sense of grip.

How do I add more camber to my stock suspension without changing anything for now.

With stock suspension, you can only get -1 deg front and -1.5 deg rears. Front is adjusted on the tower top accessible under the frunk. Rears are adjusted via the asymetric spacer for the lower control arm. Try finding a competent tire shop or they'd be spending a long time getting the alignment right.

Thanks!! Adjusting to at least those tolerances would help a little right? Before I buy more parts etc?

You can increase camber by pulling the shock inward at the top of the shock towers but that will give you max or around -1 degree camber.

If you are still running in the novice group you should be ok with -1 degree camber front and -1.5 in the rear on MPSC tires. If you havent mount these tires...dont...just run on stock street tires as a beginner.

This is my 15 or 16 track day. Just curious as to why everyone keeps saying not to run these tires? Cost? Wear? Because my thought is the better the tire the better my times will become...ran Hancook v series and Michellin super sports and thought this was the next progression?
Also is the camber a DIY or better just to take where I'm having the tires mounted?
I don't have to mount them yet if there is a good reason not to?

Is the next progression is to run r comps. Now that I know you have 15 days at the track you will definitely need more camber if you run r comps. If I was running 19" r comps it surly wouldn't be Michelin Sport Cups...done that..never again...I'd run Pirelli Trofeo...better and fast tire.
If you really want a great r comp tire Nitto NT01 is it. They are coming out with 305 for the rears...245 fronts with 305 rears 18" will be the best de combo going. I ran this for years on Toyo RA1 until RA1 was discontinued. Then moved to Toyo R888. I tried Sport cups...2 sets with my GTS...horrible much slower. 2nd set was a 245 for the front...little better but the R888 had more grip....but nothing like Nitto NT01 or Pirelli Trofeo.

Also,you will need to get off stock brake pads and get some real race pads like PFC08 or Pagid RS29 in order to take advantage of the extra grip a r comp tire has. Think of everything like a package.

CHBERNAT, although you can just move the suspension towards negative camber, your toe-in would be affected. You need wheel alignment machines to get everything right or your car will drive terribly. You can DIY once you learn stringing, preferably aided with a laser level and camber gage.
If you have MPSC in your neighborhood and can get them cheap, yes, they'd be better than any road tires. You need to follow specific tire pressure instructions at the track, though. Google and download their PDF.
mdrums, I am surprised you say R888s are better than MPSCs, I hear otherwise. Will give them a shot as I am using the Cups right now.

1. What do I tell the alignment place? How to set them up?

2. Where do I find the specs on using them the day of?
