too bad these were not around when i had my first 997.1, when i upgraded to 997.2 it was a big selling point for me how sexy the tail lights looked and how modern they looked.
went about looking for a mezger turbo and obviously they all carry the incandescent tails, but after doing some research and seeing all the options the only choice for me was the "Deco" taillights that look almost identical to 997.2 OEM lights (keep in mine DECO is who makes the tails, Dectane is who sells them).. they are different than the RotTec ones.
quick notes about install:
1 screw on inside, a tab on the outside..
use BOTH resistor packs, the second resistor needs to be mounted to the upper level inside the housing area (clean with soap and water and then clean again with rubbing alcohol so the double sided tape sticks well/forever)
insert lights with outside tab first and then pivot them inwards, the screw should line up but there are also tabs below and above the screw that need to line up.

As far as purchasing the Deco tails, i can answer where i bought them via PM as Dectane will not ship stateside, i found a vendor in cali with a 1 year warranty on them and very prompt shipping.

Florida guy is legit - he's actually in the Jacksonville/Orange Park area. I bought from him 2 years ago - great service and never any problems with the lights.

I would love to know the vender as well. Also, does the light in the taillight go all the way around when lit. I remember seeing a set that when illuminated the light formed a "c" for lack of a better description which I didn't care for. TIA

The DEPO/Dectane lights have the "C" brake light illumination.
