Default Tint percentage

This is most likely a over discussed topic. If so forgive me
D most of you go for a darker tin value on rear window (more than legal lint) and then do the legal limit on side windows? Seems like the darker rear window would help with heat rejection and also that !$@ trucker headlights

I got 15% all around, I normally go 20% but my tint guy said, 15% is best, looks a little darker from the outside but visibility is the same from the inside.

In the great Republic of CA we are not allowed to have any tint on the front windows and I didn't want that dark limo tint for my rear three windows..so went with a ceramic 30% back and 45% fronts.

It's dark enough from high beams and have privacy, yet the fronts give contrast that they are lighter so the police man won't harass me.

Windshield is tinted 65% for more heat and dash protection which one couldn't even tell it was tinted..and does not diminish driving visibility.

Couldn't post my pix up due to file size limitation ..

Dude, get a photobucket account and post some pics. Been waiting a while to see what you've done to your ride!

Only light tint ok in Minnesota, but went one shade darker than legal on sides and back, looks great..... have not been pulled over on last 3 cars.

If you go too dark on rear window, you will actually have trouble seeing behind you at night

The only thing I tinted on my car was the rear (back) window. I went with the lightest tint they had to just cut the UV and glare. Then I added a tint strip to the windshield. The car looks clean and I never worry about the cops.

I did mine the same as Cairo94507, (he is my twin brother) only one shade darker on the rear window and the tint strip on the windshield was darker. I love the look. And best part no worries about the cops.

Years ago I had to tint my 911 windows because the air conditioner wouldn't keep up without it. Today's 997 a/c is so effective that tint is not really needed, even in Arizona. But if you must, keep in mind that it works both ways--significantly impacting your night vision outward.

All of my P-Cars have had 15% all around and it looks great! And let's be honest...for most of us, tint is just for looks...

I've only gotten 2 tickets for tint on the fronts and it was easy enough to pull off and have reapplied...

Cheers,
