Rust on oil cap, filler hose
Just did an oil change. Everything went fine except that I noticed what looked to be rust on the oil cap and the top of the filler hose:
My friend's C2S doesn't have that. Where is that coming from?

Take the car for a nice 30 min drive on the freeway. Come home open the oil cap the rust color will be gone. You must be doing alot of short distance driving and not letting the oil to heat up which causes condensation. When you get condensation it will cause a white milky foam or rust color at the oil cap.

That's exactly what it looked like but I already cleaned it all off (I'm compulsive about that C2S).
I try not to take it for very short drives but it's kind of cold here so sometimes it doesn't heat up fully...

You spend way too much time cleaning, and not nearly enough time DRIVING.
This condition has been something we have seen for literally decades with 911s. Low mileage cars routinely suffer from this, because their owners are afraid to rack up miles.

I occasionally like to drive the 911 to the gym on Sunday, but the gym is very close to my house so I have to take a long detour to get some heat in the engine. It's worth the expense.
