Can this be plugged?

I'm sure that you will receive answers ranging from "Sure", to "it's a Porsche, you should never plug a tire"......
My take would be that it is far enough from the sidwall to repair, as long as you don't plan on tracking the car with these tires.
If you find a good shop, they can repair it using a "Patch Plug". Using this method the shop patches the tire from the inside, but the there is a plug incorporated into the patch.
Hope this helps,
Bill

From the looks of it, yes a professionally done plug should work since its on the tread and not side wall. Once the wheel is off, it will be easier to confirm my statement above. Of course 'should' you repair vice replace is a different question. Can't tell how much wear is on the tire and what you typically do with your car. GL.

What is the DOT date code on that rear tire?
How many miles miles?
Depending on your responses, I'd say buy 1 new tire, and repair this one to keep as an emercency spare.

It looks like that tire has seen some miles. I'd probably just replace the pair and sleep well at night.

Two plug patchess in the left rear of my wife's C4S. All street/highway for her. The TPMS warned her each time after 7psi drop.

I believe that nail may be compromising the safety of you and everyone on the road. If I were you and spending your money, I would encase the car in lead, sink it to the bottom of the Marianas Trench and buy a new, much safer 991.
If it were my money, I would patch it from the inside and never think another thing about it. And no, don't use that tire on the track.
