Default Speaker Static

I have an 07 C2S with the Bose sound system. Recently I've noticed some static coming from the speakers. It seems to have to do more with the treble than the bass. I've messed around with the fader and balance and it sounds like it's coming from all speakers not just one. I have Dension Ipod adapter do you think it could be this or the ipod itself? Has anyone ever had this before?

"It has more to do with treble" because static is in the upper frequency range. Is it crackling or hiss?
Does it occur on all sources? (cd/radio/ipod)
All volume levels?

If the source is over the air AM/FM then perhaps your antenna, if CD and MP3 have same issue you have a bad head unit or cables are lose out of your head unit. Did you work on anything in dash lately?

Do you mean static when the car is just sitting there not playing anything? If so I have that when the ignition is on.

It's crackling. I don't listen to the radio often, i'll mess it with tomorrow and see. I have not messed with the head unit recently. I notice it at louder volumes.

A little update, the crackling appears to be getting worse. Also, last time i turned on the car I wasn't getting any sound out of the passenger door speaker. What's going on? Is my head unit going or is it maybe the Bose amp?

All sources?
I'm suspecting the amp myself.

I believe it's all sources, it's tough to tell with the radio since it's not very clear to begin with. How much is the Bose amp?
